Kapton silicon tape consists of a Kapton® polyimide film and silicone adhesive designed for high temperature applications. it is also known as Polyimide tape, heat resistant tape and high temperature masking tape. It provides optimal protection of gold fingers during wave soldering of printed circuit boards. Also used to mask circuit boards during conformal coating and for reinforcing splices on rolls of flexible circuits during "roll processing" as they go through plating, etching and soldering stages. This stype tape is made of 1 mil Kapton® film coated with 1mil of silicon adhesive.
